Neville reflects on Chelsea as Pochettino appoints new manager
Gary Neville believes Chelsea will have a very good season next year as they prepare to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager.
There have rumors that Pochettino has agreed a three-year contract to become Chelsea’s new permanent manager. It will announced soon that he will become the Blues boss this summer.
Chelsea dropped to 11th in the Premier League. They have won just one game out of eight under interim manager Frank Lampard, but Neville believes the Blues will climb under Pochettino’s reign.
“I love Mauricio Pochettino, I always thought if Chelsea brought him in and improved the team a little bit. They could have a very good season next year,’ said Neville.
“Pochettino wouldn’t have taken the job if he didn’t think there was huge potential there. And obviously he thinks he can bring Chelsea back to the top of the league.
“He’s done that at Tottenham and it’s not too different a situation at Chelsea.
“I think it’s a very good move. I don’t think Chelsea will lose this appointment. He will make a big improvement right away.”
